I haven’t really benefitted from the seminar, I’m afraid. I had considered starting a store, but after careful consideration, decided against it and went back to focussing on my website and blog. Right now, they monetize with Google Adsense, and do not sell anything per se. I would therefore not benefit from having my own online merchant checkout system, for example.

The basic techniques they talk about are the foundation for web traffic, and you should do what you can. Don’t expect fantastic success overnight, however, unless you’re willing to pay for results like using pay-per-click advertising to bring traffic to your site.

I don’t know much about selling books, but a good contact for you might be Christine Rose (@ChristineRose) on Twitter. She wrote a fantasy novel and is spending a year promoting it on the road all about the US, and extensively online as well.
She’s very friendly and responsive, and a good person to know.

I took the seminar today and hope I’ve learned something I can use, because I didn’t buy. I see, for one thing, that my current site name (above) is poor. Have you benefited at all–in terms of sales? I love your art, BTW.

There were only reps at the seminar, and they more or less got people cornered for the sales pitch.

Site Build It also has access to the reverse search tool, but it’s limited to people who host with them and build websites with them, and even then, you get a limited number of uses because it’s apparently a pricey thing. I think you need to really know how to get some ROI on it before you pay anything for it.

I too would be VERY interested in where these free tools for reverse search are. I’ve looked and never found them. As to your question, I feel if you are happy with your site don’t mess with it, no matter what the experts say. If you’re not that’s when you need to change things. I don’t know if storm the castle is helping you, but it seems to have a good rank and be related material, so I can’t see how it would hurt much. Just my opinion.

Obviously, if you were trying to provide feedback about what you experienced contacting Dell then that was not the best reply, and for that I would like to apologize.
