Hi Everyone!
As you may have read in a previous blog, I am being mentored by Linda Hughes of IempowerU on marketing my site, Fantasy Art and Portraits. It’s going quite well (I’m showing up on Google Alerts!), and I thought I’d do a bit of research on the side about ppc (Pay-Per-Click) as a method of getting more qualified traffic.
I’d really love to hear from anyone who’s tried it for their site and can make a recommendation, because so far, I’ve only seen really bleak stories. And! — I came across an ad that promised to register my site for upwards of 100000 search engines (yes, one hundred thousand) internationally and give me $100 in ppc credit for two ppc services. When I checked them out, however, the two ppc services were only cosmetically different. All the text and data was identical! I smelled a scam, obviously.
I’ve gone to the SBI forums (the forums for the clients who host their website with SBI, which I do) and all I hear are woes. Even Google Adsense seems to be hard to use or difficult to get a good ROI from
So please! Share your success stories! (Or, if you were badly burned, do share which ppc service to avoid!)

I have no success story because I have chosen to use attraction marketing to get organic traffic flowing into my sites first. However, I did attend a few seminars, early on and every one cautioned me to have information about my site and visitors before I gave a blank check to the ppc folks.
One of the things you need to know is the value of the click – or the value of the customer.
Always pay less for the click than the click makes you.
Have a budget.
You can’t determine the value of your visitor until you have them. So, the bad stories come from people really not knowing what they are doing. I think when you know these things it is probably a really great thing.
Thanks for the mention Simon.
